Wayne has completed another QA assignment related to an Alumina calciner shutdown outage in Gladstone.
Both Michael and Wayne are assisting the local IRE branch with the planning of the November National Technical event in Sydney.

Wayne has just completed his QA/supervision assignment for a Gladstone Alumina refinery.
Michael has been retained by a major insurance company to assist with a claim involving refractory issues at a Victorian plant.
At the recent IRE-Australia branch annual general meeting, both Michael and Wayne were confimed in their executive posts. Wayne will contine as Branch President until the 2018 AGM, and Michael will continue as Secrtetary and treasurer.
Michael has completed an assignment in NSW for an international chemical company, including QA to API 936/560.
Both Wayne and Michael particpated, as committee members, in the Institute of Refractories’ Engineers training day in Gladstone. Both presented training content to an audience of ‘users’ from local companies, such as Cement Australia, Rio Tinto, Queensland Alumina and Boyne smelters.
Michael was retained by a major multinational chemical producer for stategic advice for their major shutdown in early 2017.
Wayne was retained by a local Alumina refinery to assist in the implimentation of API 936 to their QA system. He also provided QA supervision for their calciner outage.
Michael was retained by a local chemical producer to advise on refractories issues for the possible relocation of the plant.
Michael was retained by a multinational consulting firm to assist in the evaluation of Japanese smelting assets related to a major M&A action.
Both Michael and Wayne attended the National Refractories conference of the IRE in Wollongong, jointly presenting a paper “Why are Expansion Gaps Needed, and how do we Design them Correctly?”
